Green Bay Packers Give Back to the American Red Cross

The American Red Cross of Wisconsin teamed up with the Green Bay Packers this week, to tackle three major events.

On Saturday, August 26th, the Packers honored the Red Cross at their third annual Packers Give Back game, a preseason initiative that highlights the work of a Wisconsin charity. Over 700 Red Cross volunteers and their guests attended the preseason matchup between Green Bay and Seattle, prior to kickoff Red Cross volunteers were recognized on the field. Fans also had the opportunity to visit the Red Cross tent in Titletown prior to the game, and learn hands-only CPR, nearly 300 people were trained so they could be prepared to deliver care in an emergency until professional responders arrive.

Then on Monday, August 28th, the Red Cross and the Packers collected 296 lifesaving donations at the Green Bay Packers Give Back Community Blood Drive at Lambeau Field. All presenting donors received a free giveaway item and could enter a raffle for a chance to win great prizes from the Packers. This blood drive is one of the three drives the Red Cross and the Packers collaborate on over the course of the year.

Additionally, the Packers also served as a sponsor for the 2023 Northeast Wisconsin Heroes Classic golf outing at Thornberry Creek in Oneida that same day. The event included a round of golf, an online auction to benefit the mission of the Red Cross in Wisconsin and a special ceremony that recognized the inspiring stories of three local heroes.

The Red Cross has been fortunate to be able to partner with the Green Bay Packers for over 15 years on different community-oriented initiatives and we look forward to working with the organization for years to come.
