Hello! From Your “NEW” Red Cross Intern

My mom and I in Central Park this summer!

Hi everyone! My name is Angela Rabe, and I am excited to say I am a new member of the Northeast Wisconsin Red Cross team! I will be interning this fall and helping out with social media and marketing updates for our region.

I am currently a senior at UW –Green Bay majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Human Development.

Outside of work and school, I love exercising, watching sports, and traveling when I can.  My outgoing personality often leads me to seek a new challenge or adventure, and I am thrilled to gain experience in the marketing field and share my classroom knowledge during my journey with the NEW Red Cross.

I was particularly drawn to this internship because I know what a reputable organization the American Red Cross is.  I also know the importance of service and volunteering, having done mission work in San Diego, Boston, and Chicago, as well as being involved in various community projects.

With just one week in, I can already say I am looking forward to working with the great staff and following the Dancing With the Stars event and whatever else comes my way!

UW-Green Bay alumni carry the message of life-changing experience

Congratulations to Regional Volunteer and Communications Director, Jody Weyers, for making the UW-Green Bay “Changing your Life; Changing your World” alumni display. Check out her picture this year in the halls of Mary Ann Cofrin.

Sometimes it’s the UW-Green Bay alumni who can speak most powerfully to the UW-Green Bay experience. That is the thought behind the new alumni display in Mary Ann Cofrin Hall. Admissions personnel wanted to liven up their campus tours while leaving a strong impression of the UW-Green Bay experience with potential students and their parents. The lead panel says it all: “A UW-Green Bay education is a life-changing experience, and our 29,000 alumni carry that life change well beyond the boundaries of our campus…meet just a few of the UW-Green Bay alumni who are changing the world…” Not meant to be a “Hall of Fame” or an all-inclusive list, instead alumni for this display were selected because of their impressive stories spanning academic disciplines and career choices.

UWGB Red Cross Club Help Clean-Up Downtown Green Bay

Earth Day is April 22nd, but some volunteers rolled up their sleeves a week early.

They got their hands dirty doing some spring cleaning around downtown Green Bay, picking up trash.

“It’s a good reminder to just take pride in the Earth around us and to do your part to clean up,” Megan Vanhulle of the Red Cross chapter at UW-Green Bay said.

All Done!! Little windy, but a good day and the UWGB Red Cross Club was glad to help keep our Earth and Community Clean.
