Aaron Rodgers wins QB of the week 2nd week in a row!! FedEx donates to Red Cross

aaron eaglesWe’re happy to announce that The American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin today received $2,000 from FedEx through its Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Program. This is Aaron Rodgers second week in a row winning the vote. FedEx’s donation will support disaster relief and a variety of urgent humanitarian needs of the Red Cross.

Each week, the NFL nominates three quarterbacks and three running backs who had the best performance the previous weekend. Fans then vote at NFL.com/FedEx for the quarterback and running back who they think performed the best. This past week, our local AARON RODGERS was nominated and won, triggering the generous donation from FedEx.

For more than 15 years, FedEx has worked closely with the Red Cross to ship critical relief supplies across America. FedEx also partnered with the Red Cross to develop a variety of small business preparedness tools. As a $1 million member of the Annual Disaster Giving Program, FedEx ensures the Red Cross is ready to respond immediately after a disaster strikes.

“The Red Cross thanks the Green Bay Packers and all their loyal fans for supporting those in need by donating lifesaving blood over the years,” said Greg Novinska, CEO of the Badger-Hawkeye Blood Services Region. “We ask that community members continue to show strong support by giving blood and helping ensure cancer patients, trauma victims and surgery patients have the blood products they need.”

The need for blood is constant. On average, the Red Cross must collect about 15,000 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of patients in Wisconsin and across the country.

Those attending the blood drive will also have an opportunity to send a holiday message to a service member. Preprinted cards will be available to sign as part of the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program. Holiday Mail for Heroes enables Americans to pass along holiday greetings to active-duty service members, their families and veterans and at hospitals and installations around the world. Volunteers Honored At Packers Family Night

The Green Bay Packers organization honored the American Red Cross at family night. They are so very proud of the volunteers and staff who have dedicated their time and talents to help others. This was especially important this spring as tornadoes ravaged several states, floods over-took more and wildfires spread from state to state.  Our disaster volunteers donated their gift of time and talent to help people affected by all of Mother Nature’s wrath. We provided a place to sleep, food, water, clean-up supplies, emotional support and most of all – HOPE. We thank you all!

Tailgating for a Cause

Recoveron raises $1,515.00 to Benefit the American Red Cross during their Seven Packers Tailgate Parties

“It was a good first year raising $1,515.00 for the American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter,” said Andy Kaye, President, Recoveron Restoration.  “When we started the tailgates the main objective was to raise funds for American Red Cross and increase awareness of the needs of our community.”  Andy, his staff and their friends and family put on a free tailgate party for the community at seven home Packers games at 2036 S. Ridge Road, Green Bay. Guests were treated to brat, burgers and refreshments for a donation to the Red Cross.

“Frankly we were not sure what to expect,” said Kaye. “Not only did we accomplish our objective of raising money and awareness of needs for the Red Cross but also developed relationships with so many people that stopped by to support.”

Joe Hannon (Recoveron Marketing Director and coordinated all 7 tailgates), Steve Maricque, Andy Kaye, Brad Wery (Broadway Automotive)

“We appreciate the support and wish to thank the great people at Recoveron.  With their help, we are able to deliver the mission of the Red Cross,” said Steve Maricque, Executive Director for the American Red Cross, Lakeland Chapter.  “The financial gift from the proceeds of the tailgate parties will ensure that funds are available to meet the immediate needs of families impacted by disaster.”

“I would like to personally thank everyone that supported the tailgates and express my admiration for all that volunteered to work the tailgates,” said Kaye. “We are already planning next years tailgate parties and are looking for other businesses to partner with us to raise additional funds for next year.”
