Recoveron Tailgate Party Raises $1,000 for American Red Cross

A special tailgate party hosted by Recoveron Restoration & Industrial Services earlier this month helped raise $1,000 for the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin. Dozens of people came together September 9th to both celebrate the start of a new season and support a good cause.

“The outpouring of support from those who attended the tailgate party is tremendous and will help the Red Cross continue to provide much needed services to victims of disaster,” said Andy Kaye, president of Recoveron. “As a local restoration company, we work with individuals, families and businesses that have just experienced a significant disaster in their lives, including fires and floods.”

During local – and national – disasters, the Red Cross provides basic emergency needs such as shelter, food, medications, baby formula and more. This is on top of the emotional support and health services the Red Cross provides at the scene of disasters; most of which are local fires. “With support from business like Recoveron, we are better prepared and ready to respond around the clock,” said Steve Hansen, Regional Chapter Executive for the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin.

Recoveron Restoration & Industrial Services is a full-service restoration company, specializing in fire, water and mold restoration for both commercial and residential losses. Recoveron also provides a variety of industrial applications. Recoveron serves all of eastern Wisconsin with locations in Green Bay and Plymouth, WI. For more information, go to: www.recoveron.com

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. Tailgating for a cause: Local company hosts fundraiser on game days

ASHWAUBENON – Brats and chili were doing more than just filling the bellies of hungry tailgaters across the street from Lambeau Field Sunday.

“All the proceeds here go to the local Red Cross for local disaster relief, which we feel is a very good cause,” said Andy Kaye with Recoveron Restoration Services.

Since the season started the company has hosted this fund raising tailgate. The company has been at it for two seasons, raising more than $2,000 last year and looking at more than $3,500 this year.

And the money couldn’t be coming at a better time. Since July, the local Red Cross has provided assistance at 200 fires in Northeast Wisconsin; their “yearly” average is around 250.

One of the most recent, was the Pulaski fire, which destroyed three buildings and damaged two others in the village’s downtown. The Red Cross assisted eleven people displaced in that fire. “It does cost money to help people in our community,” explained Steve Hansen, Red Cross Regional Chapter Executive.  “The American Red Cross is there with food, clothing a roof over someone’s head.”

How much money exactly? Red Cross officials estimate they spend more than $500,000 in disaster relief efforts, with the majority of those funds coming from donations, like the tailgate.

And with the year as busy as it’s been and right in the midst of their peak months, Red Cross officials expect to exceed that budgeted amount this year. “The winter months tend to be our busiest time, two-thirds of our fires we respond to happen between November and February,” Hansen said.

And because of that, officials say making donations and public awareness of the need are particularly important this time of year. Sunday’s tailgate was the final one of the season, but coordinators say you can expect to see them again come pre-season.

Recoveron raises $1,515.00 to Benefit the American Red Cross during their Seven Packers Tailgate Parties

“It was a good first year raising $1,515.00 for the American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter,” said Andy Kaye, President, Recoveron Restoration.  “When we started the tailgates the main objective was to raise funds for American Red Cross and increase awareness of the needs of our community.”  Andy, his staff and their friends and family put on a free tailgate party for the community at seven home Packers games at 2036 S. Ridge Road, Green Bay. Guests were treated to brat, burgers and refreshments for a donation to the Red Cross.

“Frankly we were not sure what to expect,” said Kaye. “Not only did we accomplish our objective of raising money and awareness of needs for the Red Cross but also developed relationships with so many people that stopped by to support.”

“We appreciate the support and wish to thank the great people at Recoveron.  With their help, we are able to deliver the mission of the Red Cross,” said Steve Maricque, Executive Director for the American Red Cross, Lakeland Chapter.  “The financial gift from the proceeds of the tailgate parties will ensure that funds are available to meet the immediate needs of families impacted by disaster.”

“I would like to personally thank everyone that supported the tailgates and express my admiration for all that volunteered to work the tailgates,” said Kaye. “We are already planning next years tailgate parties and are looking for other businesses to partner with us to raise additional funds for next year.”
