Volunteer Highlight: Larry Staszak

Name: Larry Staszak

From: Suring

Started volunteer for the Red Cross: October, 2005

First Deployment: Orlando, FL for relief efforts for Hurricane Wilma

Larry Staszak is a volunteer with our disaster services program. He also helps at a variety of special events. For the last 4 years he was our main forklift driver and brat man at the Food Tent for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, when we were a charity partner of the event.

During the Heroes campaign this year, Larry showed how grassroots efforts can make a difference. Larry decked out the trail groomer, so while he was grooming trails, Red Cross visibility was there. He also put up Red Cross donation boxes around town and through those efforts and his community contacts raised over $500.00 to support Red Cross programs and services. “Larry is one of the kindest and big hearted gentleman that I know and we are so fortunate to have him share his time and talents with the American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter.” states, Jody Weyers, Volunteer Director.

Ps… he spoils us at the chapter by making some of the best cheesecake in the world!
